What is the difference between dee and maggie

Throughout this story readers get an inside view on life and hardships of young women during the war. In this novel readers. First, growing up the sisters were very different. On the other hand, Maggie is shy and knowledges and enjoys. For some of my family the search for individuality is an ongoing process. Firstly, the young people in my family and in the short story share similarities and differences when it comes to our actions.

Dee, known as Wangero, and I have some similarities. In the short story, "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker, two sisters named Maggie and Dee are raised in a shack house, yet only one of the sisters values their humble beginnings.

The eldest sister, Dee, is pretentious, Materialistic, and has no respect for her family. For example, Dee says, '"Maggie can 't appreciate these quilts! Maggie is an extremely reserved girl who has an older sister named Dee. She has horrible burn scars all over her body from a house fire, she can't walk well, and is thin. However, in the instance of the quilts, the narrator is forced to back Maggie.

Dee will just hang the quilts somewhere to decorate a space. She will see them and share them with anyone else that sees them, but she will never experience them fully. It is a personal conflict that the narrator has probably experienced before internally, but now this conflict surfaces between her two daughters. Still, the narrator accepts the differences between Maggie and Dee because both girls are deviations of the same strong woman they can eventually become.

In conclusion, the characters of Maggie and Dee show more differences than they do similarities. Even the beliefs and the desires they hold in common are expressed and executed differently.
