How old is oney guillen
Ripping off the scabs for every personal wound Jenks had sustained in his time in Chicago, the younger Guillen began throwing haymakers :. If you're keeping score at home, that's attacking a man for drinking, mental breakdowns, marital issues, and not playing baseball well.
The Jenks flap came and went, but not before laying a groundwork of distrust and tension in the White Sox clubhouse. Seriously, what player doesn't meet with Ozzie Guillen now and think "Okay, how soon till Oney lights me up on Twitter for what I'm about to discuss with his dad? The way was going, you had to know Oney Guillen's Twitter account would again become topical. This week, not long after the White Sox drafted Keenyn Walker, a speedy 6-foot-3, pound outfielder, who also happens to be black, with their first pick in the MLB draft Monday, Oney Guillen got loose on Twitter again:.
How about picking a good baseball player. Insightful stuff. A regular baseball version of Todd McShay I've never seen Walker play, but I'm going to assume that he is actually a good baseball player, what with him being selected in the first round of the draft and all.
Also, let the record reflect that Oney's disdain for "another black outfielder" presumably stems from their selection of Jared Mitchell in 's first round and Kenny Williams, Jr in the sixth round in Both are black outfielders. So with smoke still emanating from Oney's handheld device, Ozzie had to immediately get out the fire extinguisher and somehow manage to remain employed douse Oney's Twitter mess:. I don't want to add another one. My problem here is to win games.
So far I'm doing very bad. Very bad. That's what I care about right now and that's what I'm focused on right now. I write mine and I don't read anybody else. As dismissive as it sounds, this is probably true. Ozzie Guillen has a highly impressive follower-to-following ratio of ,to-1, so he doesn't really have any tweets to read.
The son of Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said he has no ill will toward the franchise after he was asked by his father to resign from his position in the scouting and video department. Oney Guillen, who resigned from the White Sox on Friday amid controversy for his recent comments on Twitter and his plans to start a Web site devoted to his father, only wishes those in the organization who had problems with him would have confronted him face-to-face.
I'm 24 years old, you don't have to go talk to my dad. You can talk to me first. Oney Guillen said he never heard from White Sox general manager Kenny Williams, who was not happy with Guillen opening a Twitter account earlier in spring training and didn't like the Web site idea, either.
I just hope he doesn't have any ill will toward the Guillen family," Oney Guillen said. Nobody in my family feels that way. If we don't like you we say it. If we do like you, we attack it head on. I just wish there would have been more honesty, that's all.
I'd be the last person to tell somebody what to say. But in the meanwhile, he put some people on the spot. I know this is the last time he will talk about this, because I still have a little power over my kids. Don't talk about this anymore. All of a sudden, he was talking on the radio. That says you're not respecting what I'm saying.
Ozzie told reporters on Saturday that the move was his decision, not Williams' or Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf's.
I don't give a [bleep] who you are. When you talk about my wife, my kids -- I'll kill anybody for them. When you're not right, you're not right. That's why I made the decision. I made the decision. Oney Guillen said his father was worried that a potential Web site and his Twitter account could become an excuse for critics if the White Sox, who will also be featured on an MLB Network reality show this summer, were to struggle this season. Isn't that kind of contradictory?
